Introducing Victoria Bannon, Chairperson to the ActNow Board
After 5 years on ActNow’s board, Chela Bett has stepped down from her role as Chairperson. The ActNow team sends our heartfelt thanks to Chela for her dedication to the organisation, as well as the warmth and generosity that she brought to her role. Best wishes to you, Chela; you will be missed!
Chela is passing on the baton to our existing board member, the incredible Victoria Bannon. Victoria brings a wealth of experience in not-for-profit management, international law, and human rights, aligning with her strong commitment to community empowerment, social justice, and the arts.
Here’s what Victoria had to say about about her vision in her role as Chairperson of the ActNow Board:
‘I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to support ActNow Theatre as its new Chair. This is a unique arts organisation that is not afraid to confront the difficult issues of racism, injustice and social exclusion. My two decades of working in the international humanitarian and development sector have given me a deep appreciation of the complexity of these issues and the importance of telling stories which reflect and celebrate the richness and diversity of Australian society. I look forward to being a part of the next exciting phase of ActNow Theatre’s development, including the scale up of our flagship program on Tackling Racism for Workplaces. With so many issues threatening to drive communities apart, there has never been a more relevant time for this important work.’
The ActNow team is looking forward to working with Victoria in this new capacity.
Welcome, Victoria!
