Zhao Liang

Treasurer (SHE/ HER)

Zhao is a South Australian musician with a heart for the community and touch of an artist. Arriving in Adelaide in 2002, she established School of Chinese music & arts in 2005. Since 2015, she has also led the school in developing various stimulating and ground-breaking community projects, such as Multicultural Storytime, Family Phonics and Adelaide Chinese Orchestra. Artistically, Zhao has been part of different ensembles and groups, exploring and projecting the different sides of her music. Her initiatives include San Ureshi, Oriental Flair and Moonta Street. Her compositions have stretched from ensembles to orchestras, with a touch of storytelling through music. Fond of art music, Zhao was commissioned by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as a composer in their community project Floods of Fire.

As a local artist grown and developed in SA, she has come on board to offer her diverse skillsets to Actnow Theatre, supporting accessible arts and inclusion in the arts scene.
