Josh and Sophia Don’t Play Together Anymore
ActNow Theatre and Cirkidz are collaborating on a new work called Josh and Sophia Don’t Play Together Anymore to explores issues surrounding domestic violence and gendered violence.
Josh and Sophia Don’t Play Together Anymore (working title) will target school children aged 7-11, providing them with the toolkits to develop healthy relationships, emotional literacy, safety and consent, and to plant a seed that could help prevent destructive behaviour in the future.
The development of Josh and Sophia Don’t Play Together Anymore has been a deeply collaborative process. Our team has drawn on the expertise and perspectives of a diverse group, including artistic directors, creatives, actors, devisors, circus performers, psychologists, educators, CEOs of domestic violence organisations, and individuals with lived experiences of violence. Most importantly, we have engaged directly with children in the target age group (7-11 years), whose insights have been invaluable.
Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA), White Ribbon and Zahra Foundation Australia have advised on the project.
The development of Josh and Sophia Don’t Play Together Anymore has been made possible thanks to funding from Arts South Australia.
