Community Workshop: Audition Monologue Breakdown with Ashton Malcolm

In this FREE workshop, experienced theatre maker and professional actor Ashton Malcolm will work with participants to find practical and impactful ways to break down monologues for auditions. With Ashton's encouraging and playful approach, you will learn how to analyse and rehearse a monologue; make confident acting choices; and manage inevitable audition nerves and discomfort.

All experience levels are welcome, ages 18 and over.

Ashton Malcolm (she/her) is an actor, theatre devisor and teaching artist based on Kaurna Country. She works regularly with the State Theatre Company of South Australia, Windmill Theatre, Patch, Vitalstatistix and Restless Dance Theatre.

Ashton graduated from Flinders University Drama Centre in 2009, with First Class Honours, the Drama Prize and a University Medal; and went on to study intensively with Shakespeare and Company in the USA. Most recently, she has completed a Specialist Certificate in Creativity and Health (Children and Young People) with the University of Melbourne; and specialist course, Creative Arts Practice in the Aged Care and Disability Sectors with Flinders University.

Acting credits include: The Dictionary of Lost Words (STC and STCSA); Euphoria (STCSA and Country Arts SA); Grug, Grug and the Rainbow (Windmill Theatre); Guttered, Intimate Space (Restless Dance Theatre); The Lighthouse, Yo Diddle Diddle (Patch Theatre); Rumpelstiltskin (Windmill Theatre and STCSA); and Othello (STCSA).
