This post is the fifth in our series of guest posts by Callan, whose joined us to contribute to the My Point of View project. Check out the whole series here.

THE PROPS ARE DONE!

Finally after five days of working on props, today I was able to set down my paint brush and glue and say that I had finished making the props for the animation and finally start filming! Well I say “start filming”… What I mean is I could have started filming but we didn’t have the right lights, so this meant a shopping trip. My knowledge of lights is somewhere between not much and me saying “what’s a light?” so Edwin had to help quite a bit with picking out which lights would work well. After getting the lights and stopping off for a bit of “health food” (being a packet of “Pods” and a pie), we made our way back to the office to start testing things out using different lighting and settings. The flash on the camera wouldn’t turn off so being the professionals we are instead of digging through the settings to try to figure out how to turn it off; we just put a small box over it. For me school starts back up in a few days so filming will again be delayed, but the animation will get finished!
