Matthew Gregan | Actor, Speak Out
Matthew graduated from the Adelaide College of The Arts in 2011. He has performed in such works as; Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Shakespeare’s Richard III and The Laramie Project.
Since AC Arts, he appeared in Fringe hit Sepia by Emily Steel, Directed by Nescha Jelk. Winning at the Adelaide Fringe Awards, it played to success at the following Melbourne Fringe Festival.
2013 will see Matthew perform in the world premiere of John Doyle’s Vere (faith) a co-production of the Sydney Theatre Company and the State Theatre Company of South Australia.
Matthew has also collaborated with five.point.one, Adelaide Duende Collective, Anomaly Media and Waxing Lyrical.
As well as acting, he has performed scores for productions of Geordie Brookman’s Macbeth and Red Cross Letters as well as Terence Crawford’s Hamlet and As You Like It.
Collaborating with Josephine Were, they created Just like the Movies, a lyrical road-trip in which he underscored on his beloved Gretsch guitar: “Layla.”
Recently he was seen in the Adelaide Fringe Award nominated and Advertiser 5 Star Best Dance Show Symphony of Strange.
Matthew plays with Experimental group Encarta. Their debut album was released in 2013.
