Charles Sanders | Supporting Artist, Queer Youth Theatre Workshops
Charles Sanders is a multi award-winning director, performer and producer, and artistic director of Adelaide based theatre collective Early Worx in theatre and art. He has An Adv. Dip. Arts (Acting) from AC Arts and has trained in Viewpoints and the Suzuki Method Of Actor Training with Anne Bogart’s SITI Company in New York.
As Director: For Early Worx Trans Scripts (with Paul Lucas Productions), Seven Jewish Children, Modern American Masters, The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later, Like A Fishbone, and Love Child, which was awarded the Advertiser and Critics Circle Best In Fringe 2012 and toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. For The Adelaide College of the Arts (AC Arts): Slavs: Thinking About The Longstanding Problems of Virtue and Happiness and 5 Years. As Assistant Director: For State Theatre Company of South Australia (STCSA) Maggie Stone.
As Actor: For STCSA: King Lear. While a student of acting at AC Arts: Sweeney Todd (Toby), Crate of Souls (Mrs This-Is-a-New-Beginning) and Rosmershom (Ulrick Brendal). Other: Angels in America (Belize), Hay Fever (Simon Bliss), Cats (Mr Mistoffelees), Cabaret (Herman), Rent (Angel (understudy), Ensemble).
Charles is also a teacher of acting and a regular guest lecturer at AC Arts.
